Tropical rains that started just before Christmas resulted in Australia’s worst flooding in 50 years. This has left about 1,200 homes flooded and nearly 4,000 people evacuated from their homes.
American tennis star, Andy Roddick, was not only in Melbourne a few weeks ago for the Australian Open, but to give a donation in order to aid Australian flood relief.
Roddick decided that for every ace he served at the Brisbane International, he would donate 100 dollars. His stellar performance resulted in a $10,000 donation.
These floods look to be the costliest natural disaster that Australia has ever known, so a donation of any kind helps tremendously.
