Zooey Deschanel not only excels at acting, singing and dancing, but the talented performer does a phenomenal job fighting for leukemia patients.
Deschanel recently hosted a swank charity cocktail party in Beverly Hills that benefited DKMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor center. The party combined Deschanel's two passions, saving lives and great jewelry. The jewelry featured at the party was designed by the well-known Solange Azagury-Partridge. All proceeds were donated to DKMS and their mission to recruit bone marrow donors.
Less that half the people living with leukemia receive a life-saving bone marrow transplant. It is a painful procedure, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. By donating, you have the opportunity to save a life.
