If you're computer programmer, John Breen, you create an online word game that increases knowledge and generates food for thousands of starving people. Free Rice, launched in October 2007, is a 10,000 plus multiple choice vocabulary quiz that donates 20 grains of rice to the U.N. World Food Programme for each correct answer. Since its inception, Free Rice has raised 20 billion grains of rice - that amount could feed one million people for one day. According to Breen, "Ending hunger is doable. It's just a question of getting the word out."
